King of Ketchup’s 1st Post: Dinosaur BBQ Wings: Real F#*$in’ Wings, Right Off The Grill

In the spirit of spreading the word on as much food as possible, NYC Food Guy welcomes the opinions of eaters everywhere.

This marks the first post from King of Ketchup, a good friend of NYC Food Guy. He brings his brutally honest critique and well- honed palate to the proverbial table. Check it out and let us know how he did.

Sure, Dinosaur BBQ is a little bit out of the way. Harlem isn’t exactly the most convenient or desirable location to go for a meal, but if you’re a wing-lover, you might want to make an exception and take the trip uptown. These wings are for real, and nothing like the standard bar-wings most of us are accustomed to. Nope, they aren’t straight out of the freezer, they aren’t deep fried, and they aren’t served with an insufficient covering of generic Frank’s Red Hot.

These wings are the real-deal. They’re big. They’re meaty. They’re saucy. And they’re grilled (almost) to perfection. I rocked an order of mild and an order of hot wings — both were delicious, but the hot ones were surprisingly not very hot at all. They had a nice kick to them that the milds lacked, but Dinosaur’s homemade sauce is definitely enough to make anyone’s mouth water. The only complaint about these wings would be a very slight fattiness (on the drumsticks) that could be easily remedied by ordering them a little well-done.

There were about 13 wings in a large order of wings, certainly enough to be a meal in and of itself. And for an extra 10 bucks, you can take home this ridiculous gallon of Dinosaur BBQ sauce, dousing it on anything and everything for the next 25 years. I’m a bit of a sauce-slut, but whatareyagonnado?

    Dave-

You are correct, no gallon jug on the menu. You can buy the gallon at the store or you can call their toll free number and ask for the shipping department and I’m sure they’d be able to get the gallon to you.

The number is toll free… 888-476-1662
